RSVP (REQUIRED): To Marsha Foust of the Foreign-Trade Zones staff at 202-482-2862 or ftz@ita.doc.gov no later than October 22, 2009. WHAT: Andrew McGilvray (Executive Secretary of the FTZ Board) and Kathleen Boyce (FTZ Staff regional representative), will hold a meeting in Charlotte, North Carolina with any interested FTZ grantees from the region. The meeting will include both morning and afternoon sessions. The morning session will focus on training and open discussion in a small group setting about the Alternative Site Framework (a newly available approach allowing faster, simpler and more flexible designation of FTZ sites to better meet communities' and companies' needs). The afternoon session will involve training on key aspects of the FTZ program, including grantees' responsibilities under the FTZ Act and Regulations, as well as upcoming developments related to automation of the submission of annual report data and of tracking of FTZ site information. The entire day will conducted in an informal manner, with ample opportunities for questions and discussion specific to the topics of interest to the attending grantees. There is no charge for the event. This is a unique, not- to-be-missed opportunity to learn and have a real voice in optimizing the FTZ program! |
